Lake Koutusjärvi – big trout and pike fishing experiences in wilderness lake

Participate in a trout fishing trip to peaceful Lake Koutusjärvi surrounded by the wilderness. The fishing season starts on the beginning of june and it will continue until to the beginning of November.

In addition to large lake trout, Koutusjärvi offers opportunities to catch large whitefish, pike and perch. Lake Koutusjärvi, 2.2 square kilometers in size, is at your disposal with a guide throughout the trip. The uninhabited and desolated lake creates the perfect fishing experience in a unique environment.

A experienced tour guide will wait you on site with a boat. There is a outboard motor attached on the boat. The form of fishing is both, trolling and casting, and we provide the perfect gear for these two activities. If you wish, you can also fish with your own fly-fishing gear from land or by boat. You can also use your own flotation ring for fishing.

Lake Koutusjärvi is a unique fishing destination in Finland. Therefore there is also strict fishing restrictions, with which we protect fish stocks from unsustainable fishing and unnecessary fish suffering. We use one barbed hook in the lure. Catch limit is 1 piece of 50-65cm trout without adipose fin. We release all trout with adipose fin immediately. Alternatively, you can catch 4 pieces of perch under 30cm or one pike under 85cm or one whitefish under 40cm.

The excursion starts from the shore of Lake Miekojärvi from the Sirkkakoski fishing port next to Miekoresort https://miekoresort.com/. The journey to the destination by car is about 15 minutes, from where we continue about 10min by walking to the lake.

At the rest stop in wilderness nature, you can enjoy wilderness food made from wild fish from Lake Miekojärvi in ​​the Arctic Circle.  Cooking takes place on the shore of Lake Koutusjärvi over a campfire.
