VERTICAL JIGGING  FISHING  IN LAKE MIEKOJÄRVI IN  THE ARCTIC CIRCLE IN TORNE RIVER VALLEY

Take a boat ride to the spectacular summer lake of Miekojärvi. Enjoy the tranquil but exciting fishing experience and the sensational scenery of the Arctic Circle. The best  vertical jigging fishing time from June to  October is between 14.00 and 23.00. The most common catch is perch, but you can also catch zander, pike and burbot. Vertical jigging fishing happens on a Sirmet ferry, which holds all the necessary equipment. You can also use your own rod and lures if preferred. The captain and guide of the vessel is a fishing professional. He or she teaches the most important aspects of boat fishing, as well as offering information about fishing the lake and its history.

During storms, we do not travel on the lake, as it is unsafe to move on the water. For boat line fishing no fishing permit required.
