Burbot are on offer all year round from Lake Miekojärvi, but the main fishing seasons are January to May and October to December.

Burbot are caught with fyke fishing, trap fishing and net fishing. Burbot makes a great meal all year round. Many prefer burbot in soup, but it is also delicious when pan-fried, smoked or grilled.
